Copyright & Removal Requests

Draft for legal review · Version 2026-10-16-v2. These policies are not legally certified; the operator must complete the launch review.

Tell us about a concern

Copyright owners, authorized representatives and people with privacy or safety concerns can request review or removal. On an available photo, choose “Report photo” to send a private report to the owner’s dashboard. A copyright report must explain the claim. Include a reply email if you want a response. You can also email the configured contact below, including when the photo is already unavailable or the form cannot be used. Email is also the route for privacy requests and appeals.

What to include

  • The exact Clawtraits photograph URL or photo ID. If there are several, list each one.
  • The work you own or represent, your relationship to it, and a clear explanation of the alleged infringement or other concern.
  • A way to reply, and your name/authority if acting for a rights holder.
  • Any proportionate supporting information, such as a link to your original work. Do not send unnecessary identity documents or sensitive information.

Please make reports accurately and in good faith. The operator may need further information for a legally formal notice. A simple report can still prompt a safety review; you do not need to make a legal assertion you cannot support.

What happens next

The operator reviews reports and can locate a photograph by URL or ID, withhold it from public view, record a reason, investigate relevant retained submission information, and reject or delete it. A withheld image remains private for review; deletion removes active image storage, with a retry if storage removal fails. Disputed material is not automatically republished. An appeal or correction must be reviewed by the operator, with legal advice where needed. A fresh upload does not resolve a rights dispute.

Reports are stored in the dashboard, not sent as email alerts. The operator needs to check the queue and monitored inbox regularly. No fixed response deadline is promised here; urgent risks should be brought to the contact’s attention. Requests to withdraw hosting permission use the same route. We cannot recall images already downloaded or guarantee removal from outside search caches. Details about retained records and backups are in the Privacy Policy.

Canada and international notices

Clawtraits is operated from Canada and can receive concerns internationally. Canadian notice-and-notice rules and United States DMCA procedures are different; neither should be assumed to apply merely because a report form exists. Whether the Canadian statutory intermediary rules apply to this gallery, and whether US safe-harbour conditions or designated-agent registration are relevant, require professional review. The operator must follow applicable law, including any valid preservation or disclosure obligations, without automatically disclosing uploader information to a complainant.

Legal review required: this page is a practical intake process, not a claim of DMCA compliance or statutory safe-harbour eligibility. Formal notice/counter-notice procedures, contact disclosures, any designated agent, repeat-infringer policy and legally required response steps must be settled with qualified counsel. Do not send a purported DMCA counter-notice containing sensitive personal information through the ordinary report form.
