Cats first, words optional
Share a photograph of a cat. A name, title, caption and photographer credit are optional unless credit is required by the rights holder. You can write your own words, choose none, or edit a built-in suggestion. Suggestions are playful templates, not an analysis of the image. No account is needed.
Permission matters
Upload only a photograph you took or have permission from its copyright owner to upload under the Terms of Use. Do not copy photos from search engines, social media or another gallery without the necessary rights. Photographers keep copyright; the gallery receives only the limited licence explained in the terms. Supply required credit and retain permission evidence privately; do not publish personal documents in the caption.
Keep people and private information out of the frame
Clawtraits is for cats, not portraits of people. Prefer photographs with no identifiable people, and do not submit identifiable children. If an adult appears incidentally, obtain any permission necessary to share their image and respect privacy and publicity rights. Owning a photo’s copyright does not automatically settle the rights of people shown. Avoid addresses, readable personal documents, licence plates, location clues and other private details. Embedded location metadata is stripped, but visible details cannot be removed automatically.
What is not allowed
- Copyright infringement or other unauthorized use.
- Illegal, exploitative, sexual or graphic material.
- Animal cruelty, abuse or material encouraging harm.
- Harassment, hate content, threats or targeted humiliation.
- Spam, advertisements, misleading submissions or impersonation.
- Photographs or text violating anyone’s privacy.
Simple, private review
Supported files are still JPG, PNG or WebP photographs up to 10 MB. The browser accepts images up to 24 megapixels and resizes before sending; direct server inputs are limited to four megapixels and 4096 pixels per side. HEIC, GIF, SVG and animated files are not supported. Security checks and rate limits help protect the service.
Before submitting, you must actively confirm copyright permission and agreement to these guidelines and the terms. Every upload stays private until an administrator reviews it. A moderator checks suitability, permission/credit and an accurate image description. They may reject, withhold or delete it, or ask for clarification through a contact you choose to provide separately. There is no guaranteed publication or review deadline. Repeated harmful or infringing submissions may lead to a network-based restriction; shared networks are not conclusive evidence of the same person.
